So Ends Another Year.

As another year comes to an end and we all begin the countdown to midnight, we stop and think about the great things and the awful things 2010 brought.  For myself, it brought the realization that one of my biggest obstacles in life is slowly but surely coming to an end.  I will finally be finishing up my Bachelors in English, and in anticipation of graduation comes the anticipation of my future; a future that I hope comes with a new job and a new form of happiness that I have been looking forward to for many, many years.  Happy New Year to you and may the new year bring you the happiness you have earned.

Little Golden Book

These are my new treasures.  Tony found these Little Golden Books at a thrift store and brought them home.  They still contain the records inside the back flap of the book.  I love the thought of small hands from the 70s holding these books, but they are in such good condition that I can't help but feel that they were someone else's treasures before they came to rest in my treasure chest.

This photo is from the last page of "Puss in Boots"

...and here is "The Poky Little Puppy".

According to the OED, the word "poky" means "annoyingly slow or dull" so, according to Little Golden Books, dogs are "poky" and cats are "gallant" (brave and heroic).  I couldn't agree more.

If you haven't seen this film yet, do yourself a favor and get to a theater. Quick.

Merry Christmas.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  For myself, Christmas has no religious significance, only familial and culinary significance.  Family and food: always necessities for survival.
